An Analysis of the Role of the Clinical Interview and the Davidson Scale in Diagnosing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Symptoms Among University Students

The current research aimed to identify the differences in diagnosis between the clinical interview and the Davidson Scale, as well as the interaction between them in diagnosing symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The study was conducted on a sample of 60 male and female students from Al-Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University. The researchers applied both tools, which were adopted for the purposes of this study after establishing their psychometric properties. Statistical analyses were performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results revealed that there were no significant differences between the participants’ results on the Davidson Scale and the clinical interview in the process of diagnosing PTSD symptoms. The research concluded with a set of conclusions, suggestions, and recommendations.
